Oh hey

It may not seem like it—just look at that mug—but I help technology-focused product and service organizations elevate their marketing impact—whether that means building a modern GTM engine, redefining their brand, or activating new channels for growth. My path to this work has been anything but linear, and that’s one of my greatest strengths.

My Story

I grew up in Virginia and Ohio, the son of a corporate aviation pilot and flight instructor dad and stay-at-home mom. We didn't always have a lot, but we got by.

As a kid, I wanted to be a truck driver, archaeologist, and/or baseball player. Probably in that order. But then I found my first true love: basketball. And I worked my ass off, trying to master the game. But ankle injuries and a growing fondness for intellectual pursuits carried me in other directions.

I spent my 20s in education—as a (grad) student, writing tutor, freelance editor, university writing center manager, and ultimately as an adult education teacher and program director in the nonprofit social services sector. That work sharpened my communication and content development skills, deepened my systems thinking, and gave me a grounded, human-centered approach I carry with me still.

In my 30s, I shifted to healthcare and technology—taking on roles in project management, product management, and marketing. Sometimes all three at once. That wide-ranging experience has shaped me into a highly capable and adaptable leader who understands how strategy and execution come together to drive business value.

I'm in my 40s now, and I'm proud to say I’ve built marketing functions that support speed, quality, and clarity in highly regulated, high-growth environments. Whether bringing a platform to market or amplifying voice-of-customer insights, I aim to make strategy real, repeatable, and scalable.

I love bringing clarity to complexity, connecting dots across individuals, teams, and functions, and helping purpose-driven organizations grow through thoughtful, data-led marketing.

The bottom line

I didn’t follow a traditional corporate path—and I didn’t start this part of my career until later than most. But once I found where my real skills lie—in marketing leadership—I moved fast, and with purpose. I’ve worked for six companies since 2010, never just drifting from one to the next. Each move was deliberate, each role a step forward.

I don’t do anything halfway. I care deeply about the work, the people, and the outcomes. I lead with integrity, I show up with accountability, and I take real satisfaction in doing the job well—and helping others do the same.
